SPONSORS
DGF is committed to developing and widening our audience and student base, and as such we cannot allow course fees or concert tickets to become prohibitively high. As an arts organisation we have always valued innovation and education as much as we have enjoyed presenting performers to full houses. As a unique event in Scotland the festival has attracted significant attention from the Media with all major newspapers, trade magazines, local and national radio and television covering our activities. Our audience has developed year by year and future plans will produce an even greater leap in the standing, vitality and marketability of the Festival.
The Dundee Guitar Festival gratefully acknowledges the financial support from Dundee City Council
At the same time sponsors will have the benefits of an association with a celebrated cultural event with an increasing impact in the world of the arts,
“Dundee Guitar Festival is without doubt one of the leading music events in Scotland, it deserves support to continue to thrive”
– Sir Peter Maxwell Davies

Dundee Guitar Festival Bursary Initiative
DGF launched the bursary initiative to provide financial assistance for people who may not otherwise be able to take advantage of the services that our teaching faculty offer.
Each year Dundee Guitar Festival runs a series of courses for students with some of the leading performers from the festival, this has included the likes of Manuel Barrueco, David Tanenbaum, Scott Tennant and the Assad Brothers in recent years, and attracts entrants from all over the world.
Allan Neave, festival director, said, “The tuition courses at the festival give young people the chance to learn from some of the best guitarists in the world and that’s one of the reasons why we attract so many international students each year. However, we are aware that there are lots of young people, including some from our local area, who would benefit from this kind of tuition but aren’t able to afford it. With support from organisations willing to offer an award we would hope to be able to help many more students receive this expert tuition.”
The awards will be open to students of all age groups. Candidates will be asked to supply a letter of recommendation from their teacher, school, college or institution or a recording of their work as well as a letter explaining why they should be considered. Please note that the award will be in the order of £50 per application, although in exceptional circumstances the organisers can elect to increase award.
Sponsor companies will be given acknowledgements in all festival literature and on the DGF website.
Dundee Guitar Festival is pleased to have the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet here in 2007…
